5. CASSANDRA FOY, pictured here with her
husband, Hector, and her children, Jonathan,
Benjamin and Bashirah, became much more
active in her church community afer her
diagnosis with cancer. In addition, she has decided
to write a book about her journey: "I really want
to continue to give people hope and to encourage
them not to linger on the 'why,' but instead on how
their journey can take them in the direction to
fulfll their purpose in life and what they can do to
help someone else in their journey."
6. MELISSA FLETCHER A new school year
meant a new horizon for Melissa and her
daughter, Izabella. Melissa couldn't have been
happier: "I made it to see Izzy start school!"
7. BRIAN McCRARY When Brian fnished
radiation, he and his oncologist, Sean Cavanaugh,
MD, made a deal: Brian would dress up as his
superhero for Halloween and come by the hospital
if Dr. C would dress up as his favorite superhero.
So, Dr. C dressed up as Superman and Brian
dressed as his superhero—Dr. Cavanaugh.
No case is typical. You should not expect to experience these results.
