MEET THE DOCTOR WHAT DOES A "TYPICAL" DAY-IN-THE-LIFE LOOK LIKE FOR YOU IN YOUR CURRENT POSITION? I am currently spending the majority of my time working on research ideas, but I also fll in for radiation oncologists at CTCA in Tulsa and at other CTCA facilities when necessary. On a typical day, I will work on a few protocols, review articles and have some meetings or email discussions with other doctors about ideas we are interested in. This might be broken up by a consultation or two, designing some radiation treatment plans and checking radiation treatment patient setups on the CyberKnife machine. I like balancing the clinical work with research. WHAT HOBBIES OR INTERESTS DO YOU PURSUE IN YOUR FREE TIME? I like to train for and participate in bicycle tours. I've biked across Oklahoma and participated in 100-mile bike tours in the past, and I look forward to introducing my seven-year-old son to this sport. I also enjoy photography, especially urban black-and-white photography, and I like to experiment with Photoshop. cfthrive.com Douglas Kelly, MD, a board-certifed Radiation Oncologist, serves as Medical Director of Research at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
